Imphal, March 17 2009: Asserting that two of its cadres were killed after being arrested by the Imphal West District police commando on March 10 last, the proscribed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has said that some state police commando personnel have been turned into a heartless 'killing machine'.

A press release signed by the UNLF Senior Publicity Officer, Ksh Yoiheiba said that the two cadres of the MPA, Sgt Sagolsem Sanamahi @ Jackey, son of S Kalamohon of Khumujamba Meitei Leikai, Churachandpur and Sgt Athokpam Taakpa @ Naobicha, son of A Ibocha of Ithai Khunou were killed at Mayang Imphal Yangbi Tera by the police commando after arresting them from a house near Sekmaijin bridge on March 10. It also said that another cadre of the MPA was also arrested along with the two cadres who were killed.

He was handed over to the police after severe thrashing and fracturing his limbs.

Contrasting the statement of the police that one country-made Carbine was recovered from the slain MPA cadres, the UNLF release asserted that the MPA cadres were arrested along with two 9mm pistols while also mentioning that the UNLF/MPA has no such weapon as country-made carbine.

It further said that the seized pistols may be produced while killing other innocents or it may be used in executing loot.

The statement said that the two cadres of the MPA have lost their lives by maintaining the party's policy of restraining from using force against the state force.

While saying that the state police commandos have been blinded of discerning brethrens by rewarding them for killing a revolutionary, the commandos didn't know that they have been turned into a heartless killing machine by getting incentives for killing people.

It said that the police commandos have committed a criminal offence by killing not only revolutionaries but also innocent people and branding them as 'rebels' while adding that they deserve fitting retribution as such.

The UNLF release said killing after tying their hands is a serious crime according to International Law, which will not be forgiven by the people.

It said that the killings instigated by the IOF have turned the land into a killing field and state terrorism is at its helm.

The UNLF release also pays revolutionary salute to the two departed souls of the MPA while also sharing the grief of the bereaved families.

Meanwhile, the UNLF statement while also clarifying a news item which appeared on March 10 issue of local dailies that a suspected UNLF cadre was killed and a lethod gun was recovered in an encounter with the 29 AR at Tengnoupal in Chandel district, said that the UNLF/MPA is not related with the incident.

It further said that the claim of the IOF that a suspected militant was killed in an encounter at a place near Moreh Lokchao on March 6 was the propaganda propagated by the IOF.

It said that it was an incident of killing a Myanmar national by the 31 AR in collaboration with the KNA.

It said that the killing of citizen of neigbouring country proves that India is a terrorist state and this has caused the neighbouring countries to disregard India.
