A delegation of Zomi Council, Manipur led by its chairman LB Sona met Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh at his office chamber today and pressed the demand for initiating talks with non-Naga tribal armed groups operating in the State by extending formal invitation.
During the course of the meeting, the Chief Minister reiterated his Government's commitment to end the problem of insurgency and expressed willing to extend formal invitation to all willing tribal armed groups for talks at the earliest, informed joint secretary (information), Zomi Council K Vaiphei in a statement.
Chief Secretary Jarnail Singh and Principal Secretary (Home) AE Ahmed were also present during the meeting, the statement informed.
