The Congress licked the dust in the Delhi election after ruling it for three consecutive terms.

With the trust and confidence of the people, the Congress party is in power for the third consecutive term here.
And with just two and a half years of the present term remaining, O Ibobi said it is now time for the Ministers and MLAs to expedite developmental works in their respective Assembly segments in consultation with local party workers before the current tenure ends.
The MLAs and workers should give priorities to the aspirations of the public concerned while implementing various developmental works and projects, he said.
Let the BJP do the talking and let's see if their promises are translated into action, Ibobi said.
The BJP Govt at the Centre cannot stop giving State's share of fund to the State because it has a Congress Govt, he said while adding that India is following a federal form of Government.
The Chief Minister also urged the representatives and party workers to give priority to providing requisite infrastructures in rural and remote areas.
O Ibobi also expressed gratitude to voters of Hiyanglam AC for casting their vote for the Congress candidate.
He also acknowledged the efforts of MPCC President, Ministers, party MLAs and party frontal and cell leaders and workers for ensuring the victory of the party's candidate.
Dy CM and MPCC President Gaikhangam said the party is able to re-claim the seat of Hiyanglam AC which was occupied by the Opposition.
He appreciated the wisdom of the voters who voted for the party's candidate amidst the BJP's rhetoric.
The Govt cannot survive without the people.
The Congress has given a fitting response to the scathing attacks against the CM, the State Govt and the Congress party by some parties and their candidates during the election campaign, he said.
The CM, Dy CM, Ministers, MLAs and Congress workers along with the people of Hiyanglam AC congratulated the newly elected MLA Elangbam Dwijamani on the occasion.
