Alleging that railway compensation has been paid to three impostors in connivance with an official of the DC office, Tamenglong, the Khumji-II Village Authority has imposed a 72 hour bandh along NH-53 (64 kms of NH-53 to KT Road), with effect from 6.30 am.
Memoranda highlighting the fraud have also been submitted to the Collector, Tamenglong, Dy Chief Engineer, NF Railway.
Besides this, the Village Authority has also stopped all work related to the laying of rail tracks in their area from October 18 .
In a statement issued to the press, the Village Authority alleged that an official of the DC office in connivance with three impostors have withdrawn the compensation amount without the concurrence of the Village Authority Chairman as well as the authorised persons.
Following the detection of the fraudulent withdrawal, the rail tracks work at Khumji village have been stopped by the Village Thoupei Court from October 18 .
