Keeping with its commitment of keeping the Imphal city and its periphery area neat and clean, Thangmeiband Kendra Progressive Front (TPF) conducted a social service camp at Guigalong village of 9-Thangmeiband A/C today.
The social service camp was conducted under the supervision of TPF president and former director of Health Services Dr Ch Chandramani, who is also the member of City District Congress Committee from 5 am to 10 am.
Apart from cutting down bushes along the 2km long main road of the village, clogged drainage system and culverts were also clearned up to prevent water logging during rainy season.
Around 160 volunteers including TPF members, village youths and elders participated in the social service camp.
Members of Guigalong Village Authority, Guigalong Women's Association and Guigalong Youth Club also contributed their mite during the social service camp.
In continuation of its social welfare activities, it is said TPF would be conducting similar cleanliness drive at Langol on August 14 along with the support of the local people and at other places in subsequent days to come.
