The NSCN (K) has unilaterally extended a ceasefire for a period of six months starting from March 21 to all the Naga revolutionary organizations in order to enable the Konyak Union and Sumi Hoho to carry out its endeavor for peace and unity move among the Nagas.
The decision was also to make possible for the two Naga bodies (Konyak Union and Sumi Hoho) to promulgate the 12th and 13th November, 2003 joint agreement between the two NSCN delegations which was arrived at a convention held under the aegis of Sumi Hoho in Zunheboto.
In a statement, NSCN (K) MIP, T Seochem Sangtam, said the outfit had extended the unilateral truce as it was the need of the hour besides the Naga people yearned for �unity� among all the factions of the Naga revolutionary groups---be it NSCN (K) or NSCN (IM) or FGN.
It also explained that the Naga people�s majority demand for peace and unity amongst the Nagas could not be ignored.
Therefore it had to be acknowledged at all cost, the outfit pointed out reaffirming its support the peace and unity move initiated by Konyak Union and Sumi Hoho.
