Traders seek action against suspected bandh supporters

Even as police have registered a case in connection with the act of arson in which a loaded truck was set ablaze by suspected bandh supporters near Lower Hundung in the night of September 2, no serious action has been initiated till date.
Some businessmen who witnessed the act of arson has sought immediate attention of the authority concerned.
One businessmen, speaking to The Sangai Express on condition of anonymity, said that the vandalised truck was carrying goods worth Rs 40 lakhs.
It was travelling together with two other loaded trucks on Jessami road without any security escorts.
On reaching Lower Hundung, the trucks were attacked by suspected bandh supporters by pelting stones.
Whereas the two trucks travelling in front sped ahead without halting.
But the travelling in the rear halted together with a Maruti van in which some businessmen were riding.
Soon some unidentified persons came down and set ablaze the truck.
They also snatched all mobile phones of the businessmen.
Even as complaint was filed with the police department to nab the culprits and take up actions according to law but nothing concrete has been done so far, he decried.
