A food manufacturing factory located on Naga River Lane at North AOC was razed down by fire said to have been triggered from electric short-circuit in the factory reduced property worth around 35 lakh into ashes.
The fire broke out in the early hours today.
The factory manufacturing paphar, Chou-chou etc run at the rented structure of one NS Angam by one Santosh Sahu of Mantripukhri.
Land owner, Angam said that the fire broke out inside the factory last night around half pass midnight.
His family came to know when residents at the neighbourhood alarmed by pelting stones at the windows as they were in the upper floor of the building.
Six workers of the factory stayed inside the factory were waked up by him, Angam said.
Fire fighters from the Imphal fire service station arrived around half an hour delay when the raging inferno started spreading in the neighbouring houses.
Damages were also caused properties of the neighbourhoods apart from totally gutted the factory.
Owner of the factory Santosh Sahu said six machines with accessories were also damaged in the firing.
Rs.two lakh in cash kept inside the factory also reduced to ashes.
He estimated the total loss property at around Rs 35 lakh.
Another properties worth around Rs 2 lakh of the owner of the plot residing in the upper floor of the house also lost.
