A one-day academic awareness programme was held at the Padma Ratna English School, Kakching as part of ongoing drives against abuse of drugs and intoxicant items and trafficking of the All Manipur Anti-Drug Association (AMADA).
In the programme organised under the initiative of the Human Resource Development Secretary of AMADA, students, teachers and members of the governing body of AMADA took part.
The programme was 28th one organised by the AMADA under its own policy programme to eliminate intoxicant items and control of abuse of drugs from the soil of the state.
Giving key note address of the programme, Human Resource Development secretary, K Hemabati of AMADA said that the programme was being organised with the view that the society is needed to save from eliminating by the intoxicant items.
Intoxicated items and drug abuse have deeply rooted the society that it even reaches to the school and educational institute.
AMADA takes in seriously, she said.
AMADA is planning to organise such awareness programme in every schools of the state with resource persons and sought co-operation from the teachers, students and governing bodies of the schools in successful conduct of the programme.
In today's programme Superintendent of Narcotic Control, Imphal Bureau RK Ibungosana talked on "Drug abuse prone to young students and its remedy" and advocate Y Romola on the "Elicit trafficking".
