Imphal, November 05: Governor SS Sidhu today appealed to the district level officers to execute their works sincerely while implementing the existing Govt schemes/projects during his visit to the district headquarters today.

He also asked them to remain in the station and cautioned officers against staying in Imphal when they are posted in the district.

The Governor who came in a chopper was earlier given a Naga traditional reception at the local ground here.

He was presented traditional shawls by various NGOs of the district on the occasion.

During his one-hour halt here, the Governor met many public leaders including NPO and listened to their grievances.

He is also learnt to have given many verbal assurances to the public leaders.

The Poumai Tsiidoumai Me (Students union) after meeting the Governor told this correspondent that the Governor has assured them to step up the process of earmarking a Poula programme in the All India Radio.

Senapati local ground also came up in the meeting and the Governor has promised the SDSAM delegates to include all possible sports items in the improvement of stadium besides construction of a gallery.

DAC meeting held: Later, in the day, the district AIDS committee had a brief meeting and has proposed to organize awareness campaign in all the Anganwaadi center of the district, the date of which have not been fixed.

The Governor also visited Tamenglong district where he urged the Govt officials to dispense with their duties sincerely.

The public leaders who also interacted with the Governor highlighted the grievances regarding the horrible condition of the Tamenglong-Khongshang road, non availability of drinking water, absence of specialist in the Dist Hospital etc during the meeting with the Governor.
