SPF meets ahead of PM's scheduled visit

Imphal, November 05: With the Prime Minister scheduled to visit Manipur, most likely on November 21, the SPF legislature party met today from 4 pm till 8 pm.

All the Ministers and MLAs of the SPF were asked to extend their co-operation so that the proposed visit of the Prime Minister passes off smoothly.

The meeting discussed on the repairing works being taken up on NH-39 from Mao to Moreh via Imphal, through which the Indo-ASEAN motor rally will pass through, said a well placed source.

The Congress MLAs under whose ACs the NH passes through have been asked to strictly monitor the repairing works being taken up.

The meeting also decided to assign the task of repairing the highway to the Chief Engineer of PWD.

The beautification drive taken up in Imphal was entrusted to the MAHUD and PWD.

Eviction of encroachers on NH-39 in connection with the rally also featured during the meeting.

The meeting also decided to implement the crash programme thought up by the SPF Govt to improve road communications before the winter session of the Assembly.
