Imphal, January 12 2010:
AMSU, MSF and KSA have jointly appealed to the guardians to pay tuition fee and transportation charge of the students for only one month of the class boycott period.
Talking to mediapersons at RDS School here today, AMSU president James-bond said that although the three student bodies have announced at the time of launching the agitation that no tuition fee and transportation charge should be taken from the students, the appeal to pay one month's tuition fee and transportation charge is being made in consideration of the problems faced by the school authorities and the transporters.
The three student bodies have met the representatives of All Manipur Government Recognised Private School Welfare Association today and another meeting with the transporters would also be held very soon, Jamesbond informed.
MSF president Md Atabuddin, who was also present at the occasion, said that with exception to the unconditional release of the agitators, no other public demands have been fulfilled.
But the three student bodies conceded to suspend the class boycott in view of the public concern that the academic career of the students would be lost if the class boycott agitation continued.
Even though the demands remained unfulfil, the public support during the class boycott agitation was appreciative, he said.
KSA president Y Pradipkumar also expressed gratitude to the public for their support to the class boycott agitation called by the three student bodies.
The class boycott came into effect from Sept 9 .
