Imphal, January 12 2010:
Alleging that five members of the JAC of Sanjit had taken money and signed the agreement with the State Government, without any consideration for public sentiments over the July 23 Khwairamband Bazar killing, a joint meeting of the people in four localities of Khurai has decided to socially boycott these five individuals, apart from resolving not to support the Apunba Lup in future.
The joint meeting of the residents of Khurai Kongpal Chingangbam Leikai, Khurai Sajor Leikai, Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai and Khurai Laishram Leikai held at the ground of Netajit Memorial Club, Khurai Kongpal Tinsid Road strongly decried the conduct of the five individuals in taking money and signing an agreement with the Government.

It is said that out of 30 members of the JAC formed against the killing of Sanjit, only five of them participated in the talks and the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Apunba Lup and the State Government, that ultimately led to the suspension of the nearly six month public agitation over the July 23 incident.
After a serious deliberation on the issue, the meeting adopted various resolutions including social boycott of five members of the JAC who participated in the talks with the Government namely, convenor Anita, Ranjoy, Shila, Dhanapiyari and Leirangton, until they apologise to the public, not to support any agitation led by the Apunba Lup in the future and to appeal for exemption of school fee and van fee for the fourmonth period during which the students did not attend classes.
Among those who addressed the meeting, advisor of Sanjit JAC, Leibaktombi said that five vested interested individuals, of the JAC have made a mockery of the public agitation for justice and demand for punishment of the police commandos involved in the July 23 BT road killing.
According to Bala, co-convenor of the JAC, although the five members of the JAC participated in the discussion for entering talks with the Government, only two of them namely convenor Anita and Dhanapiyari actually participated in the talks with the Government.
