MLA RK Anand who extended monetary help to the victims of the market shoot out incident on July 23 has expressed concern over the people thinking on the wrong sense to the MLAs in the opposition in the aftermath of the incident today.
Some even stayed away from the people's representatives since the incident occurred, he said recalling that in the floor of the House of just concluded Assembly MPP tabled the matter and put down observations on the incident that occurred in the crowded market area.
People wanted to know the fact of the incident.
Government should find the truth behind the incident by instituting judicial inquiry.
Only the judicial enquiry could reveal the fact and truth of the incident, he observed.
He further hoped of government conducting judicial probe into the incident knowing the sentiment of the people.
The MLA from the MPP today personally went to the houses of the two victims died in the shoot out incident and provided Rs 5000 each as helps and Rs 2000 each to the injured victims in the incident.
He handed over the money to the husband of Thokchom Rabina, Th Chinglensana of Lamdeng Khunou at Lamshang and to the family of late Chungkham Sanjit at Khurai Sajor Leikai while sharing shocks of the bereaved families.
He also expressed his feeling of shock when people of Lamshang where Rabina hailed from staged sit-in protest like having none to hear complaint lodged by them in a helpless manner.
He has been there knowing the sorrowed of the family and sentiments of the people of the area.
The father in-law of Rabina, Th Damu also while demanding judicial probe into the incident observed that he has no faith of finding the truth by other forms of enquiry like departmental or judicial inquiry.
On the other hand, family of Sanjit informed the MLA that even though Sanjit had earlier link with an underground group, he retired from the outfit and leading a normal life and looking after the family with working available work.
Later, RK Anand went to RIMS Hospital and meet with the injured persons in the shoot out incident and provided Rs 2000 each to the families of the injured persons as help in treating them.
