NESO to meet on influx issue

The impact of influx of illegal migrants to the North East region will be deliberated in the four-day general conference of the North East Students' Organisation (NESO) to be held in Kohima in the last week of this month.
The conference, which is to be organised under the theme, 'Our Resources Our Future', will be hosted by Naga Students' Federation (NSF) .
In a press conference held in this regard at AMSU Headquarters, AMSU President Thokchom Suresh said, a panel discussion on the topic, 'Impact of illegal migration of foreigners to North East' would be held on the second day of the conference.
He added that a representative each from all the federating organisations of NESO would speak on the fallouts of 'giving' political rights to illegal migrants and economic conditions of these migrants.

On the third day of the conference, apart from conducting a discussion session on the topic, 'Redefining education system of North East', elections to new office bearers of the organisation would be held, he added.
Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki would attend the opening function of the conference, he added.
