After winning its match against NEROCA, NISA, Thangmeiband still lead the ongoing 4th edition of the Manipur State League organised by the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) as part of the Vision India Project of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
NISA, Thangmeiband lead the league with 21 points while AIM, Khabam Lamkhai and TRAU, Kwakeithel are in the second and third places with 18 points each.
NISA easily defeated NEROCA, Sangakpham 5-1 in their match today which was played at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.
Players of NISA dominantly played the match right from the beginning giving little chance for NEROCA players to strike back.
NISA lead the match in the 10th minute of the match with a goal of T Ajitkumar.
After 10 minutes Ksh Malemnganba scored another goal against NEROCA in the 20th minute extending their lead with two goals.
In the second half, Malemnganba again scored another goal in the 54th minute of the match.
On the other hand NEROCA players tried their best to strike back at least one goal against NISA and succeeded in striking back one goal in the 77th minute of te match which was scored by Y Shyam of NEROCA.
In the meantime, Kh Santosh of NISA scored one goal against NEROCA in the 81st minute of the match.
The fifth goal of NISA was scored by Malemnganba in the 85th minute of the match.
N Rajesh of NISA and H Chakravorti of NEROCA were issued a yellow card each for their unsporting behaviour during the match.
Earlier at the same venue, USA beat goalless TRUGPU with two goals.
Both teams displayed a tough fight against one another throughout the match.
However lack of better coordination among the players of TRUGPU resulted into their defeat.
The first goal of USA was scored by N Rakesh in the 45th minute while Y Somendro scored the second goal in the 90+2nd minute of the match.
On the other hand no players of TRUGPU could not scored a single goal against USA and lost the match.
G Maringmei, M Rustam, K Priyojit and N Ingo were issued a yellow card each for their unsporting behaviour during the match.
The second match played at Mapal Kangjeibung between TRAU, Kwakeithel and ESU, Singjamei ended up in a goalless tie.
Both teams displayed a real tough match against one another throughout the match.
Meanwhile, MPSC beat SSU 2-1 in a keenly contested match played at Khuman Lampak Practice Ground, Imphal.
Both teams displayed a tough fight against one another throughout the match.
They found it hard to dominate over one another.
Although they lost the match, SSU took the first lead with a goal of Y Sachidananda in the 15th minute of the match.
With one goal ahead of them, MPSC players tried hard to equalise the score and succeeded in striking back one goal in the 42nd minute of the match.
It was scored by W Rajesh.
The winning goal of MPSC was scored by O Somorendro in the 48th minute of the match.
The match concluded with MPSC winning by one goal.
L Romeo of SSU and Md Zial Haque of MPSC were issued a yellow card each.
MBSU, Wahengbam Leikai defeated PYC, Phoudel 5-2 in the second match today.
MBSU took the first lead in the 3rd minute of the match with a goal of M Romi.
H Premkumar further extended MBSU's lead with a goal in the 5th minute of the match.
On the other hand PYC players tried their best to equalise the score.
As a result of their hard effort PYC managed to strike back one goal against MBSU in the 22nd minute of the match.
E Romen scored the first goal of PYC.
In the meantime, ZV Reishing Zimik of MBSU scored one goal agianst PYC in the 30th minute of the match.
Romi again scored another goal in the 79th minute of the match extending their lead with three goals against one of PYC.
W Umakanta of PYC scored one goal against MBSU in the 80th minute of the match.
And in the 80+2nd minute of the match ZV Reishing Zimik scored the last goal of the match against PYC.
O Naoba of MBSU was issued a yellow card each by the centre referee for his unsporting behaviour during the match.
Meanwhile the last match played at Khuman Lampak between AIM,Khabam Lamkhai and YWC ended up in a goalless tie.
Both teams displayed a real tough match against one another giving each other no chance to strike goals.
Both teams' players played the match with full determination to win.
As they played the match with almost equal skills and tactics, the match concluded into a goalless tie.
