After winning today's match against AIM, Khabam Lamkhai, NISA, Thangmeiband lead the 4th Edition of the Manipur State League organised by the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) under the Vision India Project of Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
After playing today's match, NISA had played 10 matches in all when all other teams except MBSU hve played 11 matches.
However NISA still lead the tournament with 24 points while TRAU and SSU followed with 22 and 20 points respectively.
In today's first match of the tournament, NISA, Thangmeiband beat goalless AIM, Khabam Lamkhai with two goals.
Both teams displayed a competitive match against one another.
However NISA dominantly played the match from the beginning.
Lack of better coordination among the players of AIM resulted to their defeat.
The first goal of NISA was scored in the 7th minute of the match by L Dewan.
With one goal ahead of them, players of AIM tried hard to equalise the score.
But the first half of the match ended with NISA leading by one goal.
The second half showed no difference in the playing tactics and coordination among the players.
N Jimmy of NISA scored his team's second goal against AIM in the 57th minute of the match.
Meanwhile, AIM players tried their best to equalise the score but all their efforts went into vain as the match came to an end.
Bhupinchand of NISA and S Manimohon and T Ajitkumar of AIM were issued a yellow card each fot their unsporting behaviour during the match.
SSU beat PYC 3-1 in the second match today.
Both teams displayed a very tough match against one another giving each other little chance to strike goals.
All the players played the match with full determination to win.
Since they played the match with almost equal skills and tactics, the first half of the match ended goalless.
But in the second half players of SSU played the match more substantially.
SSU's first goal was scored by L Romeo in the 49th minute of the match.
With SSU leading by one goal the match became more interesting with the two teams trying to dominate over one another.
SSU extended its lead with two goals scored by its player Kh Jolly in the 70th and 75th minutes of the match.
On the other hand PYC players did not lose their heart and tried to equalise the score.
However hard they tried PYC's players could scored back only one goal against SSU and lost the match.
The solitary goal of PYC was scored by L Somen in the 80th minute of the match.
L Lokeshwar of PYC and S Narakanta (GK) of SSU were issued a yellow card each.
In another keenly contested match YWC won today's third match after defeating its tough opponent MPSC 1-0.Both teams displayed a real tough match against one another giving each other little chance to strike goals.
They played the match with full determination to win.
It was an interesting match between the two tough opponents trying to dominate over one another and
strike goal.
They found it impossible to dominate over one another.
As the match progressed towards the end of the first half, YWC got its chance to score the winning goal which was turned into reality by its player K Rocky in the 45th minute of the match.
On the other hand players of MPSC tried their best to equalise the score.
In the sametime YWC players too tried their best to strike more goals as well as defend themselves.
Since they found each other as equally tough opponents they found it impossible to strike goals through the strong defence of their opponent teams.
However hard they tried, MPSC players could not equalised the score and the match concluded with YWC winning by a solitary goal.
O Somorendro of MPSC was issued a yellow card for his unsporting behaviour during the match.
