The remaining matches of the 54th edition of Sir Churachand Singh, KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament, 2010 which were postponed due to the weather will be resumed from tomorrow at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Imphal.
I league team FC Lajong of Shillong has also arrived today to participate in the tournament.
Assistant Coach of FC Lajong, Birendra Thapa in an interview said that he and his team feel glad to participate in the CC meet which is a famous tournament in North East India.
His team is prepared to give their optimum performance in the tournament in which they are participating for the first time.
He further said that they came here not only to participate in the tournament but to conduct a talent search to select good players to be later included in their team.
Two foreign players might play in the tournament.
Anand Guru, striker from Nepal has arrived at Imphal.
James Gabley may also play in the semi finals.
Apart from them, state born player Subhash of the team will also play in the final if the team enters the finals.
Another state born player Zenith will also play in the team.
Thapa said that Manipur is a well advanced state in the field of football and that Manipur dominates women's football in the country.
He said his team had played with NISA.
They had also played with the Assam Rifles' team five times in which they won three times.
NISA and Assam Rifles are good teams, he said.
When asked about the small prize money, the Lajong coach replied that they are not playing for the prize money, instead they are here to search for good players from the state.
It may be mentioned that FC Lajong was relegated from the I league after scoring only 21 points.
But they gave their best performance in the league and defeated many strong clubs of India.
Matches for December 12 and 13 will be played at Khuman Lampak and the rest will continue at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.
TRUGPU, Nambol and AMOFA, Moirang will play the first match tomorrow at 9 am.
NEROCA and KSC will play the second match at 11.30 am.
The third match tomorrow will be played between YDO and YWC at 1.30 pm.
