Jiribam, September 13:
Vehicular movement along Jiri-Tipaimukh road and Jiri-Silchar road have been totally disrupted due to flood.
With several parts of Silchar town under deluge, prices of essential commodities have skyrocketed and publication of dailies were also suspended, reports our Jiribam correspondent.
While the road traffic has been disrupted, boatmen are minting money as boats have become the only mean of transport there.
The boatmen earned atleast Rs 200 for every trip between Silchar and Jiribam, the normal bus fare of which is Rs 25, adds our correspondent.
