At least one woman reportedly sustained injuries when police fired tear gas canisters to disperse agitated local residents who were digging up road against alleged negligence of the State Government to repair the same.
According to police report, agitated local residents were digging up the road connecting Wangjing with Kairembikhok, alleging that the Government has not listened to their repeated appeals for repairing the said road stretch, at around 9.30 am today when the police swung into action and fired tear gas canisters to bring the situation under control.
One woman was hit by a tear gas canister on her left leg.
However, the injury is not serious.
