Border trade discourse at Moreh

With the stated objective of giving a boost to the Indo-Myanmar border trade activities, a two-day workshop on operationalisation of letter of credit (LC) has begun from today at Trade, Centre, Moreh.
The workshop is being organised under the aegis of Department of Commerce and Industries, Government of Manipur.
Among others, the inaugural function of the workshop was attended by Principal Secretary (Commerce & Industries), Government of Manipur O Nabakishore Singh, Managing Director of MANIDCO S Joykumar Singh, Chief Manager of UBI (IBD) Bankopadhay, AGM (IBD) ND Purakasthaya, Chief Manager of UBI Imphal Anand Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Customs (Imphal), H Soikhanthang, Regional Head of EXIM Bank (Guwahati) Shonlylitting, OSD (EXIM) Ksh Shantakumar, president of RUMBTCC U Hla Maung, Divisional Manager of Myanmar Economic Bank (Mony Wa) U Myint Swe, Director of Border Trade Union of Myanmar U Tin Ye Win and eminent traders of both the neighbouring countries.
Discussion in the workshop mainly centered around involving mechanism towards promotion of ongoing border trade between Myanmar and India.
