The KCP (P-faction) has accorded revolutionary salute to three of its slain cadres, namely army chief Boicha alias Prithivi, sergeant Meetei alias Subol Irom and private James who were killed by a combined force of Assam Rifles personnel and State police commandos at Pidonu Chingthak under Lamlai Police Station yesterday in an encounter.
Death of the three comrades was a great loss to the party and all the cadres mourned their death by observing a 10 minute silence praying for the peaceful repose of the departed souls in their heavenly abode, publicity secretary of the outlawed outfit Leingak Leima Chanu said in a statement today.
Refuting reports, the statement clarified that of KCP-P has not set up its camp at Pidonu Hilltop.
An 18- member team had gone to participate in a meeting to resolve the difference among the factions of the party and they were only taking rest when some informers gave the news about their presence to the security force which resulted in the death of the three comrades.
All the remaining 15 cadres have arrived safely at the base-camps, the statement said, added that the arms and ammunition seized by the security forces include two G-3s with live ammunition of 280 rounds, one M-16 with 386 live bullets, two US Carbine along with 46 live ammunition, three 9 mm pistol with 67 live ammunition, one .36 revolver with 46 bullets, four Chinese-made R-3 grenades, seven mobile phones besides a cash amount of Rs 20,75,000.Reacting to the death of one Thokchom Ningol Moirangthem Ongbi Ibemcha alias Romila Devi, the statement asserted that she did not have any connection with the outfit nor she was the Leingak Leima Chanu.
A mother of 2-year old son, she had only gone to the hilltop to give lunch pack for her husband.
