Cadres of KNF (P) allegedly beaten up two villagers of Keihao village of Senapati district under Yairipok police station on the charge of delivering their meal lately.
Regarding the incident, the chief of the Keihao village, David Keishing said on the night of July 26 at about 7 pm 10 cadres of KNF(P) in combat dress came to his home and stayed the night with clothing.
The cadres informed him that they will have meal in the next day at the village and left the village.
In the morning of the next day, they again came to the village but left the village and proceeded toward Nongpok Keithelmanbi.
Even thou they did not informed that they will be back or not, the villagers kept the meal unprepared.
They came back again and asked to serve the meal.
When the chief approached them that the curry is yet to prepare as they did not informed for their return.
At that the cadres agitated and order the meal quickly and brought to the place where they would take relax.
When the villagers went to deliver the meal, they could not find them as the cadres did not inform them the place where they should stay.
The chief along with one Shyamson Angkang son of Singam in search of them.
Later, at around 11.30 am, he hot the information that they are staying at Bompal village, a neighbouring village, three women along with two men of the village went to deliver the meal but the chief stayed behind at home as he was exhausted.
The cadres enquired the reason behind late in delivering the meal and whereabouts of the village chief.
After then, they beat up the two men.
The two men who sustained injuries in the assault were identified as Hormi Jimik (60) and Robertson Angkang (35) son of Jimik.
They have been hospitalized at RIMS.
The chief further said that Kuki militants KNF(P) frequently came to the village and beat up the villagers.
In September last year also, the chief sustained injury when beaten up by them in connection with a road repairing work in the village.
