Students of College of Agriculture, Imphal who successfully cleared the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) Examination, 2009-10 conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) were felicitated during a function at the Assembly hall of the Central Agriculture University at Iroisemba today.
Out of 38 students from the College of Agriculture who appeared in the all-India level JRF examination, 37 of them passed the examination registering a pass percent of 97.37.Fourteen students of the College also figured in the top 100 ranking with Bagish Kumar securing the 10th position in Social Sciences from general category.
Expressing happiness over the brilliant performance of the students, Dean of Central Agriculture University, Imphal Prof N Iboton presided over the function announced that a cash reward of Rs 10,000 each would be given from his own pocket to every students of the college who managed to secured position among the top 10 ranking in the JRF examination starting from this year.
He also appealed to all concerned not to disturb the academic atmosphere of the Agriculture University and leave it as a free zone area.
