MLA of Hiyanglam A/C E Dwijamani who recently assumes the office of chairman of Manipuri Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has appealed to all the industries and factory owners in Manipur to get the consent certificate of the Board from time to time and help in controlling pollution and protection of the environment.
Speaking during a reception function hosted in his honour by the Lismart Industries in appreciation of his assuming the office of Chairman of MPCB, Dwijamani pointed out that unceasing human activities are the only threat posing to the environment all over the1 world today.
It should be the responsibility of human beings to save the environment.
Even if the impact on the environment is inevitable at least to some extent in the development of any society, maintaining ecological balance is essential.
Otherwise, there is no meaning for development.
So toward helping the Board in controlling pollution and environmental degradation, all the industries and factory owners should get the required consent certificates from the Board from time to time, the MLA said.
He also stressed on the need for co-operation and maintaining cordial relationship between the industries owners and the Board to save the environment from further degradation.
While urging the officials of the Board to discharge their duties sincerely, the newly appointed Chairman also underlined the importance of upgrading the existing equipments and other machineries of the Board.
Additional Chief Conservator of Forest Department AK Raina and Member Secretary of Manipur Pollution Control Board K Angami who attended the fucntion as president and guest of honour respectively.
MLA Dwijamani also inspected all the factory rooms of Lismart Industries.
