Imphal, May 17:
Clearly peeved with the manner in which the Hmar Inpui and the Kuki Inpi, CCpur worked out an agreement over the killing of two Hmar youths through customary practices, the Kuki Inpi, Manipur today questioned the wisdom of bringing the settlement while no efforts were made to identify and punish the killers.
In a statement, KIM also questioned how Kuki Inpi, CCpur agreed to compensate for the killings as though it was guilty of committing the crime.
KIM further question how the two bodies came into the picture of a murder case and maintained that it would have been much more positive if the two bodies had unitedly decided to find out the killers and do something so that such killings do not recur.
"Again would it not be right to firstly confirm whether the crime was committed by a UG group or civilians," asked KIM and wondered whether KIM CCpur will be able to bear any similar responsibility in similar circumstances in the future.
