Akinpou Panmei (18) of IB Bazar, Ta-menglong whose body bearing multiple sharp weapon wound was recovered from the Assam Rifles Firing Range located at Chingmeirong West was killed by the NSCN (K) for trying to snatch and run off with the outfit's weapon among others, claimed Zeliangrong Region publicity secretary of the NSCN (K) Felix.
Felix alleged that Akinpou was deployed by the NSCN (IM) group headquarters to Imphal to monitor movement of cadres of K group.
To interrogate Felix on his conduct cadres of NSCN (K) town commander nabbed him and the drastic action had to be resorted to prevent his escape while on the way to an interrogation site, Felix informed.
It may be recalled that Akinpou's body suspected to have slashed to death on the intervening night of March 19 and 20 was found by morning walkers in the early hours of the next morning.
The secretary further stated that due to reluctance of Govt employees at their respective posting in Zeliangrong region the people have suffered a lot and warned of stern action if the higher State authorities fail to initiate appropriate actions.
