Even as the flood water at various low lying areas at the capital have decreased, vast area of paddy field and dwelling houses along Tiddim road connecting Imphal and Bishnupur dist, have been inundated owing to the overflow of Nambol River and its adjoining rivulets.
Owing to the heavy down pour at the catchment area during the last few days, Nambol river and its connecting rivulets namely Khabi and Kamong have overflowed and flooded the vast land including Laipham Bamdiar, Phoijang, Tera Makhong and in addition to Malom in Imphal West Dist.
Oinam Sabal Leikai, Kha Jiri, Awang Jiri, Moijing, Nambol Awang Leikai, Phoijing Makha Leikai, Utlou Mamang Leikai among many other villages in Bishnupur dist are also severely affected by the flood.
At Meitram, a large number of fish farm covering around 10 acres have been sub merged by the flood waters.
The total loss incurred by the flood would be around Rs 20 lakhs, said a pisiculturist who hails from Meitram in Bishnupur dist.
Various local bodies of Nambol Sabal Leikai have opened flood relief camps in the area.
