Imphal, January 13 2009:
In the aftermath of the grenade attack at the Raj Bhavan by the KCP (MC), the State Government has decided against opening doors and windows above ground floor of all buildings located along Governor Road facing the Raj Bhavan.
A decision to this effect was arrived at after the high level meeting presided by the Chief Secretary studied in detail and approved the recommendations of the Govt constituted committee headed by Additional DGP A Romenkumar.
Prohibition on parking vehicles along Governor Road and closure of the road at night are other recommendations of the Committee.
Notably in stepped-up security arrangement, the State Govt has already decided to shift away three offices currently located in the surrounding area of the Raj Bhavan.
