Wondering why the State Government still prefers to sideline them after their prolong engagement, eleven lecturers from Churachandpur college here in a joint statement issued today insist on knowing how much money they have to pay to how many people in order to be absorbed as a regular.
'When we are expecting that our time has come for absorption as full fledged lecturers, no one seems to care for us.
The government has taken lecturers in our stead two times, had the MPSC functioned in the mid 90s ours would have been different,' said the statement that calls on the architects of part-time lecturers to say something in their cause.
Comparing their cause to that of Nazism, the lecturers said though hell bent on their absorption the government has inducted some of their students as regular lecturers.
Which it says is a humiliation but also a matter of satisfaction as it very well demonstrates their capability.
Striking a more mystical note, the lecturers said they were not problem to the growth of education in the state but a part and parcel in of the academic sphere of the society.
'There is the divine to know our plight and to give equal share to those antagonists of ours that the same pathetic treatment given to us can always visit their house holds anytime, if not in their lifetime,' it said.
Not paying any attention to our cause may be the biggest blots in the history of contemporary Manipur, it adds.
'Why were we not ousted during the downsizing some years back if we were that much unimportant,' it asked and went on to add that if their counterparts in the preceding years can be absorbed, why not them.
It also noted that some one tried to solve their problem simply by terminating them a year ago, the statement said that was akin to the western movie way of liquidating injured or over-tired horses.
'Ours cannot be solved like that; we are not animals or horses but post graduate degree holders very capable of serving in colleges and human'.
On how much they have to pay to how many people, 'is this, the accepted norms in the appointment process,' it wondered.
