A party conference of Manipur People's Party (MPP) today while condemning the killing three non-Manipuri workers has demanded all concerned to clarify on the killing to the people.
Presided over by party president Dr L Chandramani, the conference has also called upon the Govt to find out the identity of the killers for taking up necessary action.
Today's party conference has also strongly condemned the brutal killing of Kasom Khullen SDO Dr Thingnam Kishan and his two sub-ordinate staff namely Rajen and Token after being abducted by armed cadres of NSCN (IM) and demanded the Naga rebel outfit to hand over the cadres involved in the killing to the State Govt for taking up necessary legal action and awarding punishment to them.
Moreover, the conference resolved that the Govt of India should declared the NSCN (IM) as a terrorist organization if the Naga rebel outfit objects to the trial and punishment of the involved cadres in accordance to the judicial system and Constitution of India.
Maintaining that the ongoing peace talks between the NSCN (IM) has created fear among the people of Manipur time and again and expressing apprehension on the possible of clauses in the peace talks which are not in the interest of Manipur, as the Govt of Manipur is not a party to the talk, the conference accordingly raised the demand of including the State Govt in the peace process.
Taking serious note of existence of over 6 lakhs unemployed youths in the State, the conference called upon the Govt of Manipur to take up necessary steps to ensure the livelihood of the unemployed youths to live with dignity as a citizen in the society.
While expressing strong reservation against the State Cabinet decision of handing over the affairs of the Umang Lai institution to the Govindajee Temple Board, the conference has also demanded revocation of the Cabinet decision.
Exerting pressure on introducing the SEP being applied in the border areas of developing countries like China and Myanmar and Myanmar and Thailand in between Manipur and Myanmar as well, the conference maintained that such steps would able to bring more economic development through coming together of the Meiteis scattered in different parts of Myanmar and Thailand with the people of Manipur.
