Joint Secretary of Border Management, Ministry of Home Affairs, Sada Kant would be arriving at Moreh on September 14 to review the survey works being carried out for establishment of an integrated check post there as well as border fencing in Moreh section of Indo-Myanmar border.
Joint Secretary Sada Kant would be accompanied by Home Ministry Director MC Mahenathan.
They would coming to Moreh directly from Guwahati in a helicopter, conveyed an official source.
The Home Ministry officials would make a spot assessment of the site covering an area of 45.50 acres earmarked for establishment of the composite check post.
They would also hold a meeting with officials of Industry Department.
The Home Ministry officials would work out an agreement on the cost of the land to be acquired.
Earlier, the Home Ministry maintained that the price of land was too high.
During their visit at Moreh, the Home Ministry officials would also review the survey work being carried out by the Survey of India for fencing 10 kms of border in Moreh section of Indo-Myanmar border.
The Joint Secretary and the Director would also meet Assam Rifles officers.
Earlier during his official visit to the State, the Union Home Secretary said that the Home Ministry has agreed in principle to put up fencing along the entire length of the Indo-Myanmar border.
