Basic concept of education is a must to compete with other.
It will not be possible to compete with the developed country without the basic concept of education, said Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, S Budhichandra today.
Speaking at the sliver jubilee celebration function of the Naorem Birahari College, Khundrakpam to mark 25 year of establishment of the college, the Speaker opined that to bring development in a country or state, education is the basic foundation.
Imparting education is the only infrastructure that would bring development.
Keeping this concept in mind, everybody should take education as the most important thing.
Some countries of the world are more advanced then other because they give priority to education, he added.
Expressing concern over diminishing moral characters and disciplines among the younger generation of today, Bushichandra stressed the need of well moral character and discipline for becoming a success man in future.
"Good moral character and well behave is the only way to success it life" he advised the gathering students of the college.
MLA, Th Lokeshwor who is also the chairman of the governing body of the college presided the function in which state IFCD minister, N Biren, MLA E Dwijamani, MLA E Suraj also attended as guests of honour.
Giving his presidential address of the function, Lokeshwor observed that it is not an easy thing to run a private college.
It required not only fund but also physical involvement with sacrificing spirit.
Human resource is the most important integrant part of development.
Despite having good road communication and develop infrastructures, if education knowledge is lack then all in vain, he added.
Youth affairs and sports minister N Biren also said that education is the backbone of the society towards development.
The future fate of the society is to be decided by the education imparted to the youths of today.
MLA E Dwijamani stressed the need of imparting value base education to the children while MLA E Suraj appealed the students to fully extract the resource of youths during college life by the students.
On the occasion, founder members and teachers and students with excellent service to the college were honoured with gifts.
Earlier, chief guest hoisted the flag of the college and also unveiled a statue of the founder of the college late Naorem Birahari.
He also released a souvenir of the celebration.
