The 19 children trafficked from the state of Manipur in July last year, were finally brought back to the state on Monday.
The 19 children are currently kept at Takyel Observatory Home, Imphal and would be handed over to their parents/guardians on Tuesday after holding a small function.
It may be recalled that a total of 76 children were rescued from a children home in Chennai by Prabhakaran, member of Child Welfare Committee (CWC).Out of the 76 rescued children 54 are from Manipur.
35 rescued children are yet to be brought back to Manipur, informed a member of CWC, Imphal.
The 19 trafficked children were brought to Guwahati on Sunday by the Chennai police and handed them over to the custody of Rajbari Athletic Club at Manipuri Basti, Guwahati.
Two members of Social Welfare Department, Imphal and a few guardians of the trafficked children had gone to Guwahati in a special bus Sunday afternoon for bringing the children back home.
Of the children rescued, 19 reached Guwahati yesterday where they proceeded Imphal on the same day.
They were given food and allowed to take rest at Rajbari Athletics Club at Manipuri Basti in Guwahati before boarding an Imphal-bound bus.

Majority of the children are girls and below 12 years of age.
The Child Welfare Committee, Kanyakumari, rescued altogether 76 Manipuri children from unregistered homes of Chennai in several raids.The raids were conducted following reports that children from the Northeast were brought to Tamil Nadu and kept at illegal homes.
