As informed by the eldest son N Romeo (27), his father, Netrajit is an alcoholic and used to pick up fight with his mother frequently.
As usual, his father came to the house last night after drinking and he heard both of them quarrelling over some petty matters and he just ignored them.
But at around, 12.05 am, while everyone was sleeping his father stabbed his mother with a knife.
On hearing the commotion, it was his younger brother Romendrajit (21), whose bedroom was just adjacent to their parents' and has no door between the two bedrooms, who immediately rushed into his parents' bedroom.
But he too was attacked and his father tried to strangulate him.
As the bedroom of the parents had been locked by the mother, the door had to be broken down by the local people who soon gathered on hearing the news and finally managed to round up and bind the killer husband with ropes.
