BJP Manipur is set to lodge a complaint with the Election Commission of India against Chief Minister Okram Ibobi and Inner Manipur Parliamentary MPP candidate Th Chaoba for violation of election code of conduct.
This was stated by Inner Manipur Parliamentary BJP candidate Wahengbam Nipamacha during an election rally conducted at Thanga Chingthak today.
W Nipamacha said that CM Ibobi alleged that Manipur faced financial overdraft due to implementation of the 5th Pay Commission in the State during his (Nipamacha's) time.
However the Chief Minister has announced that his Government will implement the 6th Pay Commission in the State during an election meeting held at Ukhrul to woo the voters,he said and added that this was in violation of election code of conduct.
The former Chief Minister said that allegation made by MPP candidate that BJP is a communal party too is in violation of the election code of conduct.
BJP Manipur State unit will file complaints against Ibobi and Chaoba in this regard, Nipamacha added.
He further clarified that in today's context, there is no communal party in the country, and it is enshrined in every party's constitution.
Chaoba made such allegations as he is not aware of this fact, the BJP candidate said.
Regarding State's territorial integrity, Nipamacha said that inauguration of Integrity Pillar at near pologround during his time testifies how concern he was in the integrity issue.
Alleging that State Government is not taking up any concrete step to book the culprits involved in the killing of Dr Kishan and his staff, Nipamacha asked whether Ibobi Government is under NSCN (IM).
Nipamacha also asked what is the use of barricading roads when CM bungalow and Rajbhavan were attacked.
If he were the CM, Nipamacha said, he might have resigned on moral grounds.
Speaking in the meeting, BJP National Executive member Meinam Bhorot mentioned various schemes taking up during NDA's time like AAY, BPL and SSA.
