Polling percentage in the Outer Constituency for the 15th Lok Sabha elections has reached 80.19 percent.
The figure may rise as reports from some polling stations located at interior and remote areas could not be obtained as yet.
According to information received from the State Election office, EVMs used in about 1112 polling stations were brought to the office till 5 pm today.
The total number of polling stations in the Outer constituency was 1223.District-wise poll percentage is 74 in Thoubal, 88 percent in Chandel, 85.6 percent in Tamenglong, 87.5 in Senapati, 70 percent in Ukhrul, 75 percent in Churachandpur, 61 percent in Jiribam sub-division and 88 percent in Kangpokpi.
However, reports of some polling stations located in the interior areas of the districts other than Thoubal and Jiribam are yet to reach the Election Office.
As such, the exact figure of poll percentage at these polling stations are yet to be confirmed.
Though permission has been given to use helicopters for airlifting polling personnel in remote areas, there has been certain problems due to inclement weather.
