In continuation of the year long education campaign undertaken by the Manipur Students' Federation (MSF) under the theme 'Let's learn properly', a three day long seminar cum discussion programme on education was opened today at the hall of DM College of Teachers' Education.
Speaking on the occasion, MSF president Sanjoy remarked that the knowledge economy is the most viable and resourceful asset of a Nation.
He observed that most of the Manipuri students have little enthusiasm to do serious research works.
The opening session of the seminar was moderated by Prof N Rajmohon and Prof Ksh Bimola.
During the seminar session of the opening day, retired lecturer Dr Elangbam Iboyaima presented a paper on "Infrastructure of Educational Institutions", president of All Manipur Secondary Schools Th Ibopishak on "Primary Level Education", Principal of RK Sanatombi Devi College of Education S Gunadhor on "Administrative and Policy of Government Towards Education (S)", president of the All Manipur College Teachers' Association P Laingam on "Administrative and Policy of Government Towards Education (U)", Imphal College lecturer Koijam Shethajit on "Syllabus and Curriculum", Controller of Examinations, Manipur University H Rajmani on "Examination System in Manipur", Dean of Students Welfare MU Prof W Nabakumar on "Relation Between Teachers and Students", HoD Education Department MU Prof Laishram Leiren on "NAAC/Non-Lapsable Central Pool/UGC Higher Education", Economics Department MU Asst Prof Chinglen Maisnam on "Globalisation Policy in Education" and AMUCO advisor Dr Dhanabir Laishram on "Society and Environment".
On the second day of the seminar tomorrow, Dean of Students Welfare MU Prof W Nabakumar would be the moderator.
