Meghalaya Director General of Police (DGP) has sought a detail report on the circumstances that made the four Meghalaya police personnell to open fire at the officers of Delhi Police at the Israel Embassy on Thursday night.
On Thursday night , four of the Meghalaya police personnell who were part of the state Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBN) assignment at the national capital opened fire at the Maruty Gypsy carrying the Delhi police officers.
The four police personnel were on duty at the Israel Embassy.
The personnel who fired directly at the police vehicle is identified as contable Vikram Lama .
He was immediately arrested and according to the state DGP V Kezo, Lama has been kept under suspension, while the three others who opened fire in the air were kep under confinement and are being interrogated.
The State DGP told newsmen today in Shillong that he has sought a detail report from the Acting Commandant of the IRBN H Toi.
While sources in New Delhi said that the four were in an intoxicated state and another source said that the four constables opened fire out of frustration.
It is said that they are living in a pathetic condition and even their allowances were even denied in the past six months that they were posted in New Delhi.
