A historic joint Indo-Myanmar mega medical, dental and veterinary camp was held at Molcham of Khengjoy Block and Bokkan on May 5 and 6 with the coordinated efforts of the army and administrative officials of both Nations, said a PRO IGAR (S) release.
Informing that the camp of such magnitude was organised on the border areas for the first time ever, the release also maintained that after the formal inauguration by officials of the two countries on May 5 about 2000 locals from either side of the border availed service rendered by medical personnel of Indian Army, Assam Rifles and from Myanmar.
Lectures of AIDS awareness, anti-malaria precautions and other malignant diseases were also organised during the two-day campaign, the PRO detailed while conveying that Brig SK Bhanot inaugurated a ration retail outlet cum STD booth in Molcham village of Chandel district.
