STATE CHIEF Minister O Ibobi has reportedly informed his Cabinet ministers that the state government has received an intimation from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs regarding surrender of a group of KCP(MC), today in a Cabinet meeting, a highly reliable sources said.
The Cabinet meeting which was held this evening under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, O Ibobi also discussed the matter related to the demand for setting up a university in the hills which has come from various quarters.
In the intimation of the MHA, it was also reportedly mentioned with regard to the surrender, the group has also expressed willingness to know the details of the surrender policy of the state government.
The Cabinet meeting, after thorough discussion on the matter, decided to instruct state Chief Secretary Rakesh to take up necessary action regarding the matter, the sources said.
However, the sources did not disclose which was the particular group that approached the Centre for surrender.
The state Cabinet after a thorough discussion resolved to put up a proposal to press the Centre to set up a regional centre of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University considering the demand for setting up a university in the hills of the state as demanded by various quarters.
As regards setting up the university, the Cabinet also agreed to approach the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University located at Amar Cuttak, Madhya Pradesh to consider for opening a centre of the university in the state.
It also discussed on taking the benefits of Centre's national policy regarding the opening of a university each in every state of the country.
The state Cabinet also agreed to the proposal of extension of the administrative committee to gram panchayat administration of the Koubru Leika, Turi Bari, Kalapahar, Satal Bari etc.
for one year with expiry its six month term.
Mention may be made that after the panchayat election in the said GPs could not be held together with the last panchayat elections in the state, state government constituted administrative committees to look after the working of administration of the GP.
The Cabinet also discussed on the matters related with the appointment of shortest teachers of the government schools which earlier notified for recruitment of 1,590 and later reduced to 1,071 and decided to discuss the mater once again after identifying the schools which have shortest of teachers, the source said.
Another decision to recruit 1,729 for the schools under the hill district councils was also approved by the cabinet today apart from agreed to the proposal of upgrading the ITI at Ukhrul with 10 trades and appointment of 24 instructors require for opening new trades.
