Vivek Raj Wangkhem, who has not only been elected twice to the Manipur State Assembly from Kshetrigao A/C but had also been a Minister, N Kaishii who had contested the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly election from Tadubi A/C as an independent candidate and six others have joined BJP Manipur Pradesh today.
The six others are Md Nazir Hussain, who was the chairman of Minority Cell of MPP; former presidents of MPP Youth Front N Ajit and L Somorjit Singh, former general secretary of MSCP Chanam Yaima Meitei and Md Abdul Hekim of Kshetrigao A/C.Along with giving his approval, BJP Manipur Pradesh president Dr Haobam Borbabu welcomed all nine of them to the party fold.
Addressing a press conference in this connection at the party office here today, Borbabu said more and more people have joined BJP as they have complete trust in the party.
Expressing confidence of NDA returning to power at the Centre after the upcoming Lok Sabha election, Borbabu said there would also be similar change in the power equilibrium in Manipur after the election.
Charging the Congress led SPF Government of failing to control the law and order problem and stop the rise in prices of essential commodities, Borbabu said the BJP would be trying its best to dump such a corrupt Government.
Stating that lives of many innocent people have been lost in the bomb blast at Ragailong on October 21 last and the serial bomb blast in Assam on October 31, Borbabu observed that detection of use of RDX in these terror attacks indicate link with International terrorism.
In order to put a curb on such act of terrorism, BJP has always been urging for sealing the Indo-Bangladesh border, Borbabu said, adding that sealing the Indo-Myanmar border is also essential in view of heighten terrorist activities in Manipur.
The BJP is keen to field its candidate in the LS poll.
