Imphal, March 21: Hailing the recent change of leadership within PULF and election of Umar Farooque as its new chairman, the All Manipur Muslim Youth and Voluntary Organisation (AMMYVO) has accused the former chairman Md Azad for abusing the name of the outfit towards his selfish, personnel benefits.

In a statement issued by the president of the AMMYVO MK Rohit accused the former chairman Md Azad alias Robin of taking absolute power of the party into his hands.

Taking advantage of being the chairman of the armed outfit, Azad abused the party's name to get his relatives employed under the State Government.

He also procured contract work orders from different Government Departments in the name of the outfit.

He pocketed 50 percent of the profits earned from contract works.

Not only that, in quite contradiction to revolutionary principles, he extorted huge amount from numerous individuals, killing many innocent people who could not entertain his monetary demand.

MK Rohit also accused Azad of terrorising people by threatening and hurling bombs into the homes of innocent people.

By appointing his own younger brother Md Rehman as army chief of the outfit, Azad used the whole apparatus of PULF according to his personal whim.

The recent move of the PULF general Assembly of pulling down Azad from the post of chairman has been a desire of the people since a long time back, he claimed.

He further hoped that PULF would now dedicate to the cause of the motherland under the leadership of Umar Farooque.

Lastly, the president of AMMYVO appealed to all concerned to give up all schemes for an ugly internecine killing.
