Imphal, June 10 2009:
Subsequent to the decision of the SPF Cabinet, the ex-gratia of policemen killed in the line of duty as well as compensation to be paid for injuries sustained has been announced by the Government today.
For policemen killed in the line of duty in extremist action, the ex-gratia has been hiked from Rs 2 lakhs to Rs 3 lakhs while for injuries suffered by policemen and civilians due to extremist action has been fixed at Rs 75,000 (permanent disability), Rs 50,000 (grievous injury) and Rs 10,000 for minor injury.
No ex-gratia or financial assistance will be admissible to militants and over ground workers of militant groups banned or otherwise, said an order issued by the Government today.
