Ningthemmayum (O) Mangi Shija and Padmashree Dr Moirangthem Kirti, have been declared Fellows of the year 2008 by the Manipur State Kala Akademi during its General council meeting on May 27 last chaired by the Governor Gurbachan Jagat, who is also the Chairman of MSKA.
Announcing other award winners of 2008 in different fields, the Secretary of MSKA Dr Kh Sarojini informed that N Amusana and Lukram Manglembi have been declared the award winners in Manipuri Dance.
The award winners in the field of music were Kshetrimayum Godadhor and Ngangom Ngoubi while Ningombam Jadumani is the winner of the award in theatre, it stated.
Nandeibam Iboyaima is declared the winner in Shumang Leela while Maibam Tomba and Pukhrambam (O) Thoinu were declared winners in other forms of Art.
In Thang-Ta, Sansenbam Yaima is declared the winner.
In tribal culture, Darenglian Aimol and Lalthanghlun Guite were declared the winner while Kshetri Bir has been announced as the winner in literature for his novel 'Ei.' In fine arts, the declared winners were Khundongbam Ojit (lithography) and Vareimi Shinglai (Sculpture/mixed media), according to the statement.
