Imphal, September 05, 2010:
Village Authority Chairman Council, Tamei has drawn attention of the State Government to take up immediate measures to end the woes being faced by the people of the sub-division.
A press release issued by its chairman Ch Poujiang lamented that the sub-division is still cut off from the rest of the State in all aspects.
He said that the conditions of the roads that connect Tamei from both Kangpokpi and Tamenglong have turned from bad to worse with numerous landslides blocking the roads at different locations.
Improper drains, broken culverts and slushy conditions plague both the roads, he added.
Poujiang added that regular bus services and vehicular movements have been suspended for the past 2-3 weeks compelling the poor villagers to face acute shortage of essential commodities.
