With the process of land acquisition for construction of a power sub-station at Yurembam nearing completion, an official meeting held today discussed about the necessary fund for the project which includes arranging transmission lines from Silchar to Yurembam through Jiribam.
The meeting chaired by Chief Secretary DS Poonia was attended by Principal Secretary (Power) and officials of Planning Department.
The project to be taken with funding from the World Bank consists of putting up transmission lines which would connect all States of the North East region.
For this project, the State should produce Rs 724 crores as its share.
The meeting discussed about the possible heads from which the required amount can be spared.
