The owner of RK Electronics located at the western side of Kanglapak was reprimanded by the Consumers' Club, Manipur for faulty dealings.
A statement issued by the Club informed that one Thokchom Maipak of Nongpok Lourembam, Yairipok bought a Dish TV from RK Electronics on June 7 this year at Rs 5800 under the condition that the channels available in the Dish TV would be provided free of cost for 12 months.
However, after three months, all the channels were blocked at which Maipak complained to RK Electronics.
The owner of the shop while clarifying that the channels were blocked as per a new order of the company, asked the customer to forego six months time when the shop would provide the channels for three months.
Unsatisfied with the response, Maipak complained to the Consumers' Club who subsequently summoned both the shop keeper and the customer.
Later un understanding was reached between the customer and the shop keeper under the condition that RK Electronics would provide all the channels for a year as agreed earlier.
Further the shop keeper was made to pay Rs 50 for the customer's bus fare, informed the statement.
The Consumer Club further appealed to all the customers to come to their office at Paona Bazar if they feel they have been deceived by shop keepers.
