In all 10 colour televisions (29 inch) along with DTH connection and eight computers with printers and accessories were distributed to representatives of various local youth clubs, women's self help groups and educational institutions by the Commandant 143 Bn CRPF Harjinder Singh at the unit headquarters in Lamphelpat today.
Interacting with the local public on the occasion of the distribution ceremony held under the civic action programme, Commandant Harjinder reiterated not only the commitment of the CRPF towards generation of employment opportunity and development of professional skills of people of Manipur but also towards developing their mental and physical health through the practice of yoga, said a CRPF statement.
Further conveying that yoga practice could be followed on AASHTA channel twice a day besides the same channel offering vital information on medicinal plants, the officer also pointed out that Manipur and Nagaland have medicinal plants in abundance.
In his speech as the chief guest, MS Raghava, who is the DIGP CRPF stated that more such programmes would be organised so as sustain the warm and friendly bonds of the CRPF with the people of manipur.
It will be the endeavour of the CRPF to undertake all such measures which embody the spirit of togetherness and promote goodwill and well being among the needy and deprived section of the society of Manipur, the statement quoted the DIGP as saying.
