On the occasion of the World AIDS Day observance held, personnel of 34 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under Headquarters IGAR (South) donated blood at a blood donation camp organised by Lions Service Centre, Thoubal on November 30, said a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) today.
Meanwhile, 39 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQs IGAR (South) organised a free medical camp for the needy children of Zions' Children Home and Mapao Khullen village in continuation of its ongoing humanitarian activities which was personally supervised by the AR Unit's Commandant Col RK Shivrain.
According to a PRO IGAR (S) release, a total of 193 persons were examined and treated at the camp during which the Commandant also interacted with the mapao Khullen village elders and the children to understand their plight particularly on the absence of basic medical infrastructure.
